Air transport: passengers

These pages show emissions and energy consumption for passenger air traffic, measured in grams per passenger kilometre. The term passenger kilometre represents the transport of one passenger over one kilometre.

The given numbers are representative of the situation in Finland (air traffic to or from Finland).

Values used for computing unit emission factors are available in the background data table.

Scheduled and charter flights Attention! These data tables are for year 2008. Unit emission factors for air transport will be updated as soon as newest background data is received from flight operators.
When calculating CO2 emissions only, we recommend using the ICAO Carbon Emissions Calculator by ICAO (the International Civil Aviation Organization) that applies recent, route specific data.
